The article focuses on book "The Real Life of Sebastian Knight" by Vladimir Nabokov articulating the classic view of the exile's nostalgia for his homeland even as he punctures its sentimentality. It mentions sense of alienation among German-speaking Jews from the only language and writing with excitement about the Yiddish theater which had come to Prague with its leading actor Yitzhak Lowy. It also mentions remarks on Jews and the German language.
