- Title
THE MARKET FOR INDUSTRIAL LIFE INSURANCE IN DEVELOPING NATIONS: CENTRAL AMERICA.
- Authors
Felton, Robert S.
- Abstract
The economic development of Central America is many years behind the United States. In many respects the area has the characteristics of the United States during the time when industrial life insurance was in its heyday. Research conducted in the countries indicates that the industrial life insurance system is ideally suited for such economies. Central America does not have the problems of inflation so common in many of the other Latin American countries and the economic growth since the beginning of the Central American Common Market is ahead of expectations. There are economic and social benefits to be derived from such a system of life insurance.
