Intrigued by the difficulty of reading this primary source, the author describes the contents, style, and notational conventions used in the 1699 edition of Johann Krieger's Anmuthige Clavier-Ubung, and itemizes obvious inaccuracies in typesetting. In discussing Krieger's Giacona, the author suggests a possible reconstruction of the incompletely printed variation.
