- Authors
Graybeal, Geoffrey M.
- Abstract
The article presents research on newspapers considering efforts by community newspapers to attract youth and young adults as newspaper readers. A survey of community newspaper publishers is considered. It was found that a majority of respondents said they targeted both children and teenagers as potential newspaper readers, that over 25 percent of respondents recruited teenagers to produce content aimed at those audiences and newspapers were more likely to present such content on their Web sites rather than their print editions. Published also reported that increases in young people reading their newspapers were almost exclusively due to their using their Web sites.
