- Authors
Ledford, Heidi
- Abstract
The article discusses the use of CRISPR technology to edit genetic sequencing. Topics include the simplicity and versatility of CRISPR, the inventive use of CRISPR by biohackers, amateur biologists often working in community laboratories, such as Johan Sosa to alter the flavor of beer, and concerns of the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation's Bioterrorism Protection Team that CRISPR could be used to create a genetic modification designed to spread through organisms at an unnaturally fast rate.
