Cherry, Michael
- Abstract
The article focuses on the plan of South Africa to build the Square Kilometre Array (SKA), a radio telescope in Karoo. It says that SKA needs an international funding to cover its radio astronomy facility at an estimated cost of 2.1 billion dollars. However, the country is vying with Australia to host the facility as they sealed their bids in September 2011 to the international SKA Program Development Office at the University of Manchester in Manchester, England.
