- Abstract
The article offers poetry criticism of the poem "Genesis" by U.S. poet Delmore Schwartz. The author is largely concerned with the ways in which the poem presents Schwartz's ideas on the transnational character of American identity. The role of ghosts in the poem's narrative is analyzed in order to investigate the poem's theme of the individual's place in society.
