- Abstract
Violence against women is a violation of human rights. It is also an area where gender inequality is reproduced, and all kinds of actions that men resort to in maintaining their dominant positions and pushing women to a secondary role. Violence against women can occur with demographic, political, economic, social and cultural changes. With the emergence of the digital age, and increased access to media and digital devices, so to has the potential for violence towards women increased in this sphere of technology. In this context, it is possible to define the emerging digital violence as a risk realized through the opportunities provided by new communication technologies that can become viral. It is essential to discuss and make digital violence, a form of violence against women that has not yet been discussed, visible. No policy has been developed, together with the parties of the issue. The studies in this area are still limited and often unrecognized and unidentified by the victims. In this study, a conceptual framework has been created by evaluating digital violence against women.
