- Abstract
The article focuses on the certain privacy-related ramifications of publicly accessible geo-spatial databases. Topics discussed include social and legal aspects related to the use of automated license plate recognition (ALPR) systems in the U.S., law enforced for the regulation of ALPR use and needs of changes in the data retention and information-sharing practices of the Victoria Police Department (VPD). It further discusses the role of ALPR in police practice under the Fourth Amendment.
