- Abstract
The article examines the diverse representations of the historical figure of Joan of Arc. The varied use of physical imagery in depicting Joan of Arc throughout history is discussed. The events of her life and the circumstances that led to her canonization as a saint are explored. Attempts to borrow on her image as a noble woman of strength by authors, in plays, in education and religion are observed. Various drawings, illustrations, television programs and films related to Joan of Arc in a number of different cultures and countries are assessed.
