- Title
THE MARCH OF THE DIVINE WARRIOR AND THE ADVENT OF THE GRECO-ROMAN KING: MARK'S ACCOUNT OF JESUS' ENTRY INTO JERUSALEM.
- Authors
Duff, Paul Brooks
- Abstract
The article focuses on how the Gospel of Mark's account of Jesus Christ's entry into Jerusalem suggests the portrayal of Jesus as the messianic king that would claim his city. Topics addressed include reinforcement of the image of Jesus as a conquering ruler by the allusions framing the entrance account, and reconsideration of presuppositions about such topics as messiahship, discipleship, and the role of the Kingdom of God.
