- Abstract
The problem of penetration of a low-frequency electric field into a thin-walled infinitely long conducting cylinder with an ideally thin unclosed ellipsoidal perfectly conducting sheath on its axis is solved by the method of paired equations, which is combined with addition theorems and relevant averaged boundary conditions. The effect of the vertex angle of the unclosed ellipsoidal sheath on the coefficient of field attenuation inside the sheath is numerically evaluated for different screen geometries.
