- Abstract
The article discusses sustainability and accountability in business in America as of July 2013, focusing on corporate social responsibility programs and an effort to improve corporate transparency and environmental performance. The 2009 U.S. Executive Order 13,514 (E.O.) entitled "Federal Leadership in Environmental, Energy, and Economic Performance" is addressed, including the impact of the E.O.'s requirements on the U.S. Department of Energy's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
