- Abstract
Since the legal system is a highly culturally specific field, legal translation has always been an essential component of human communication and will likely become even more so in today's increasingly interconnected world. On the other hand, it also poses certain obstacles and challenges. Legal translation is often considered a class of its own among nonliterary translation and is described as the "ultimate linguistic challenge", combining the ingenuity of literary translation with the terminological precision of technical translation. This paper focuses on some of the difficulties of legal translation between the English and Albanian language due to several features such as: lack of equivalent terminology, cultural differences, legal style etc.
