- Abstract
The article discusses the use of high dose rate (HDR) interstitial brachytherapy as treatment for prostate cancer patients. It notes the observation from the American Cancer Society that prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men but its mortality rate is decreasing due to early diagnosis. It relates the use of HDR interstitial brachytherapy in Creticos Cancer Center in Chicago, Illinois an option for prostate cancer patients. Details on the procedure of the treatment are provided.
