The article explores the making and publicity of the antiapartheid film "Mapantsula" in South Africa. It discusses the publicity of the film from 1988 to 1990 where it shows the life of a petty gangster in the troubled political situation of 1980s. The author explores how the film relates to the public during that time of political struggle.
