- Abstract
The article discusses the role of forensic evidence on the conviction and exoneration of Steven Barnes in January 2009 in Oneida County, New York. It outlines on how Barnes being convicted by the jury for raping and murdering the 16-year-old Kimberly Simon based on the physical evidence and testimonies of forensic scientists. However, it explains that he is also exonerated by the jury in the appellate trial due to some inconsistencies and further thorough examination of physical evidences.
