- Abstract
This paper has as its main focus, discuss the training of teachers, based on the analysis, the Critical Theory of the Frankfurt School. For this, we refer to authors such as Adorno, Horkheimer, Kant and exponents of contemporary Critical Theory such as Buck-Morss, Maar, among others. We emphasize the need for an emancipatory teacher training, in which the future teacher is able to focus all efforts towards contradiction and resistance, in a society that enforces heterenomy. We understand that, first, the teacher in training needs to develop autonomous thinking, so he can later help their students think non-tutored way. The emancipatory teacher training is a possibility, however, as Adorno points out (1995), it is necessary to join efforts towards a '[...] education for confrontation and resistance. From a more consistent training, the teacher might, for example, explain to students some falsehoods contained in the content carried by the culture industry, through the analysis of radio or TV programs, movies, commercials, etc. which often refer to the viewer the illusion of a perfect world, despite all the horrors in contemporary society. The teacher can also examine with the students, the musical hits, drawing a parallel between the hits that are topping the charts and music of dense content. In this analysis, it is a systematic reflection and conducted by the teacher, which will provide discussions about the content expressed, with learners.
