- Title
NIGERIA.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the victory of Goodluck Jonathan in the April 16, 2011 presidential election in Nigeria. According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Jonathan scored enough to claim a national mandate. His closest rival, Muhammadu Buhari, got 12.2 million votes, followed by Nuhu Ribadu and Ibrahim Shekarau. Buhari argues that the electronic spreadsheet programme of INEC has suppressed his votes. The main political developments in Nigeria are outlined.
