- Abstract
The article looks at the rise of regionalism and the state of global trade in the wake of the financial crisis. Particular focus is given to the significant role China plays in the global marketplace and its relation to the U.S. It explores concerns for the monetary expansion in the U.S., which has ripple effects around the world and represents a major source of uncertainty. The shift of economic influence toward Asia is discussed, along with the three factors that affect global trade.
