- Abstract
The article looks at the nature of international economic justice, focusing on the work of 20th-century American philosopher John Rawls. The author outlines Rawls's concept of the duties which wealthier and/or well-governed societies should bear towards poor and/or politically underdeveloped societies, including providing people in poor countries with minimal levels of subsistence and helping those societies to become self-supporting. Rawls's books "A Theory of Justice" and "The Law of Peoples" are cited.
