- Authors

- Abstract
The article discusses quantitative research on emissions emitted by ships traveling near and into Turkey's Ambarli Port. Emissions of concern are those associated with combustion of heavy fuel oil including nitrogen oxides, particulate matter, sulfur oxides, carbon compounds, and other toxic air pollutants. Total quantities of these emissions are estimated from data compiled in 2005. A modeling study is conducted to simulate the effects of topography and meteorology on atmospheric pollutant transport. Atmospheric concentrations of the noted compounds attributable to ship emissions are estimated.
