- Title
Maps and Sections of a Silver-Lead Mine at Combe Martin, Devon.
- Authors
Ebdon, Martin
- Abstract
The most significant period of activity in the long history of Old Combmartin Mine was between 1835 and 1848. All original plans and sections of the mine from that period are lost, only a small fraction of the workings are now accessible, and the mine's location under a developing village has caused much of the surface archaeology to be erased. Nevertheless, the mine's topography can be reconstructed using information in company reports together with maps that were not made for mining purposes, and the locations of the principal shafts can be established with a high level of confidence.
