Abstract
The article presents a study conducted by Cleveland, Ohio-based international industrial research company The Freedonia Group Inc. which reveals that the world demand for rare earths will reach $4.5 billion by 2019. Topics discussed include the expanded production of neodymium magnets, China's reduction in the export quotas for metals, and majority of rare earths mining accounted by China.
