- Abstract
Tooth extraction is a common procedure that is performed routinely and is associated with very few risks. The formation of a pseudoaneurysm as a direct result of tooth extraction has not been widely reported in published studies; it is more frequent as a complication of orthognathic surgery (1). The purpose of this paper is to describe the literature of maxillary artery pseudoaneurysm and its diagnosis and treatment in the Emergency Department. The search engine we used is Pubmed. 39 studies were analyzed; mainly, they were case reports. In this study, we will analyze the cases of pseudoaneurysm formation following dental extraction and orthognotia surgery which are reported in literature.
