- Authors

- Abstract
The article focuses on the baroque form of artistic style used in the funeral ceremony of Beatrice Acquaviva D'Aragona, wife of a captain of Spanish army Marquis Francesco Castromediano Cavallino, in 1637. Such symbolisms were used to represent the social magnificence as well as political and social ambiguities. The funeral was described in detail by the Dominican brother Giovanni Palombo of the S.Nicoliò di Caballino monastery.
