- Abstract
The article presents a comparative studies the velocity of velum, a speech articulator, in Quebecois French nasals. Topics include measurement the velocity of velum movement using simple linear regression models; opening and closing phases of the velum, its velocity during nasal consonant and nasal vowel production in Québécois French remains similar; and there is a positive correlation between velopharyngeal openings (VPO) and velum velocity.
