- Abstract
The article reports on the study that evaluated that effectiveness intrapleural fibrinolytic therapy to treat pneumonia with secondary pleural infection in horses. It is suggested that the use of fibrinolytic agents is appealing because the most common reasons for failure of pleural drainage in horses are occlusion of the catheter by viscous. Meanwhile, it observed no adverse side effects following the administration of recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (r-TPA) in the colt.
