- Title
PROTECTING THE UNPROTECTED: RELIGIOUS EXTREMISM AND CHILD ENDANGERMENT.
- Authors
Guiora, Amos N.
- Abstract
The article presents an analysis on child endangerment and religious extremism of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS) in the U.S. Accordingly, male and female children are like victims of neglect and child abuse under the doctrine of FLDS because of underage marriage. It explores the religious violations of FLDS, which practice polygamy and allow sexual relations with underage girls or the so-called child brides. It also provides a brief history of FLDS. Several court cases involving child neglect and abuse are also discussed.
