- Abstract
Purpose: Thus, this research aims to evaluate the effects of the Behavioral Belief of Compliance and Social Pressure on the Intention of Compliance in a company in the Brazilian electricity sector. Theoretical framework: The behavior of the people who carry out organizational processes is directly related to their level of knowledge in relation to the company's procedures, rules and regulations. This behavior, according to the Theory of Planned Behavior, is based on human intention, representing how much this individual is willing to perform a certain action. Methodology: To this end, a descriptive quantitative research was carried out, using a structured survey questionnaire as a data collection instrument, and structural equation modeling as a data analysis technique. Findings: In all, 504 responses were obtained and, after the respective analyses, the results showed that both the Conformity Behavior Belief and Social Pressure exert a significant and positive influence on the Compliance Intention. The application of this research in companies from different segments is a suggestion for future research. Originality/value: This research contributes by evaluating the effect of behavioral belief in the Brazilian electricity sector, combining the Theory of Planned Behavior with business practice.
