Edward Steichen.
- Abstract
The article offers information on the works of famous photographer Edward Steichen. It features Steichen's retrospective exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art which features products of his prolific and restless career. It also states Steichen's interest in using photography to communicate with large audiences that made him reproduce photographs for magazines with large circulations such as fashions for Vogue, celebrity portraits and theatrical improvisations for Vanity Fair, and for commercial and public service advertisements. Most of Steichen's photographs are printed by George Tice and were entrusted by his wife Joanna Steichen to the International Museum of Photography in New York after his death. Some of Steichen's photographs are also presented.
