Abstract
The article profiles Robert J. Doherty, the fourth director of the International Museum of Photography at George Eastman House in Rochester, New York. After obtaining a bachelor's degree from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1951 and a master's degree in Fine Arts from Yale University, he became a production manager in Holliday, Inc. and became director of graphic design at Reynolds Metal Company, where he received several design awards. He also organized and designed several exhibitions.
