The editorial reflects on the regulatory impact of the United States Office of Federal Assets Control (OFAC) on the functioning of International Society of Nephrology (ISN). These regulations that arise out of embargoes on certain countries affect the ISN's working. An overview of the principles of society, embargoed countries, and ISN's position in this regard, is presented. The author calls for necessary amendments to OFAC regulations.
