- Authors
Dolgin, Elie
- Abstract
The article discusses pediatric HIV studies being planned following the publication of a Mississippi case involving an HIV-infected infant that lived for a year even after cessation of antiretroviral therapy. Pediatric infectious disease physician Deborah Persaud and other specialists are scheduled to meet with the International Maternal Pediatric Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials group to start further research. The necessity of unconventional treatment to an HIV-positive newborn is also noted.
