- Title
What CSMS Has Done for Us Lately.
- Authors
LaVorgna, Kathleen A.
- Abstract
The author reflects on the contributions of the Connecticut State Medical Society (CSMS) to medical care. She says that CSMS partnered with the Universal Health Care Foundation in drafting the SustiNet that offers affordable insurance to those who do not have existing coverage. She adds that CSMS, along with the American Medical Association (AMA), has opposed the acquisition of HealthNet by United HealthCare because it believes that United will exclude high-risk patients. It also encourages hospital-employed physicians to join organized medicine.
