- Title
Pattern Deposition From Scripts to Applications.
- Authors
Silver, Mike
- Abstract
The article focuses on the application of various computer software on architectural design. It cites that the AutomasonMP3 software developed by Mike Silver Architects exhibits a class 4 cellular automaton and is projected for complex brick buildings construction in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It notes that the Fibershop Version 1.0 was utilized for the production of composite skins for the widening of a museum courtyard in Ohio. It states that programmers were able to visualize and experiment with the complex patterned systems, which cannot be covered by the operational scope of traditional media, using TRANSIMS, a simulation of a vehicular infrastructure in Atlanta, Georgia. The author asserts that computers are not yet mainly adopted in architecture because of some constraints.
