- Title
Abbott's super freeze cost Australian workers $5,425 each.
- Abstract
The article discusses a 2020 report which shows that after the Tony Abbott government in Australia delayed the super increase in 2014, the money went to employers and not to workers. Topics covered include these workers' loss of 4,325 dollars in superannuation, and the fall of the median wage then when adjusted for inflation in 2020. Also noted is the Scott Morrison government's need to explain why low- and middle-income workers during the pandemic have to live second-class in retirement.
