- Authors
BROMELL, NICK
- Abstract
The article discusses the notion that political positions are grounded in moral beliefs or faith that have no further justification. It is said that secular progressive thought often differs from thought that is rooted in the experience of suffering among African Americans. The views of thinkers including Richard Rorty, Malcolm X, and Frederick Douglass are addressed. Also noted are the opinions of civil rights activist John Lewis, theologian Gayraud S. Wilmore, and theologian and activist Pauli Murray.
