- Abstract
The article highlights the findings of a study, which described the contact between the Mexican sign language and the American sign language in two deaf communities in Texas. The study described the language production of eight deaf individuals who participated in one-on-one interviews and group discussions. The study observed that participants frequently utilized gestures of the ambient hearing cultures and points for communication. It also revealed instances of interference between the linguistic system of one language and the equivalent system of the other language.
