Title
Antifungal therapy gives new hope for severe asthmatics.
Abstract
The article presents a study which assesses the response of severe asthma with fungal sensitisation (SAFS) to oral itraconazole in Australia. Study reveals the improved score of rhinitis in the antifungal group, but degenerated in the placebo group. It points out that there were no severe events observed in both groups. However, seven of the patients establish adverse events which require discontinuation. Results suggest that SFAS respond to oral antifungal therapy.
