New APA Division for Qualitative Inquiry Proposed.
- Abstract
The article pertains to an announcement by a group of Psychologists to form a new division for Qualitative inquiry, within the American Psychological Association (APA). This group led by Kenneth Gergen and Ruthellen Josselson, expects the division to foster qualitative research in Psychology, and work towards the development of its philosophy, theory and methodology. Areas that could come under this endeavor could be narrative, life history, phenomenology, ethnography, visual representation, performance and action research. The Steering committee for this division has been established.
