- Abstract
The article is a dedication for the 60th birthday of Christian Näther, a German chemist. Näther was born in Frankfurt am Main in 1962 and completed an apprenticeship as a chemical laboratory technician. He studied chemistry at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt and obtained his doctorate there in 1994. Since 1997, he has been working at Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel, where he expanded his knowledge in single crystal structure analysis. Näther has also familiarized himself with magnetochemistry and developed a synthetic approach to coordination polymers. He is a respected collaborator and co-author of over 800 scientific publications. In addition to his research activities, he is also a dedicated teacher and has been recognized for his scientific work.
