- Abstract
The article presents information on legal developments in marketing relative to the regulation of channels of distribution. In regard to operating features of marketing institutions, the article discusses the case of Miller Plymouth Center, Inc. v. Chrysler Motors Corp., where the Miller dealership took Chrysler to court after terminating its franchise, charging a violation of the Automobile Dealers Franchise Act of 1956. Regarding exclusive dealing arrangements, the article cites Fortner Enterprises, Inc. v. United States Steel Corp. and U.S. Steel Homes Credit Corp., which will be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court. The case centers on a charge by the land developer that U.S. Steel proposed an illegal financing tie in under the Sherman Act.
