The article presents U.S. legal developments in marketing relative to the regulation of product characteristics. In 1962 the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) offered some clarification of the Wool Products Labeling Act. They ruled that it is not a violation of the Act if the label overstates the length of the yarn contained in skeins.
