- Abstract
"Racial Trauma: Clinical Strategies and Techniques for Healing Invisible Wounds" by Dr. Kenneth V. Hardy explores the emotional, psychological, and behavioral consequences of sustained exposure to racial oppression experienced by People of Color. The book highlights the impact of racial trauma on individuals' lives and argues that the mental health field has not adequately addressed these wounds. Dr. Hardy provides practical strategies and techniques for therapists to assess and treat the seven "invisible" wounds associated with racial trauma. While the book primarily focuses on the experiences of African American/Black clients, it acknowledges the broad experiences of racial trauma among other communities of color. This book is recommended for marriage and family therapists looking to address racial trauma with their clients and for MFT graduate students and supervisors seeking culturally attuned supervision.
