CHRISTOPHER WHO?
- Authors
Rogers, Claudia
- Abstract
The article offers a look at the religious beliefs, class structures and everyday life of the Caribbean people collectively known as Taínos before the arrival of the European explorer Christopher Columbus. In the explorer's "Diario," he wrote that the Taínos received the Europeans as White Gods, but such a claim was challenged by scholars. According to some scholars, Columbus and his crew had been identified as man-eaters and not gods.
