- Abstract
In this study, nationalism, adopted in modern Greece, will be explained through official historiography and national historical myths created during the formation of the perception of history. This study holds an important place in order to understand the official historiography they use to create social belonging and memory, which Greece attaches great importance to in the establishment of modern nation-states, and in terms of thinking about where nationalist reflexes stand against the current globalization and the abolition of borders. In this context, firstly the concepts of nation and nationalism will be explained, then the answer of the question of how the Greek nation defines itself and how they position themselves in this stage of history will be sought. Finally, the process of the formation of nation consciousness will be discussed and how the genesis and development of historiography is formed through national myths and the perception of reality of this will be examined.
