- Abstract
This article proposes basic tenets of person-centered care for people with early-stage Alzheimer's Disease. These include emphasizing the value of the person despite cognitive impairment; the importance of psychological, relational, and spiritual contexts in assessment and care planning; and regularly seeking and integrating the input of people with early Alzheimer's into the assessment and care-planning process.
