- Authors

- Abstract
As the person living with moderate-stage dementia continues to lose his or her ability to participate in everyday activities, how do we as care partners provide a familiar, supportive environment that allows for meaningful lives and relationships? This article examines the strategies and approaches that enable us to look at people with dementia as whole individuals; to recognize their attempts at communication when words fail them; and to use their strengths and abilities to meet their needs and create a space in which they can live full and meaningful lives.
