- Abstract
The article examines metallurgy in the Bible, focusing on the period when the Israelites acquired the ability to work iron and how the Golden Calf was destroyed. Topics discussed are metalworking describes in the Bible that deals with manufacturing objects from silver, gold and copper, the burning or melting down of the Golden Calf by Moses in the Book of Exodus and Deuteronomy, and the interpretation that chemical methods were used to destroy the Golden Calf.
